So many people buy new golf gear year after year, but they soon realize that it doesn't help much no matter how many times they change their driver!

The more educated believe that having a great swing is key to a low score. They usually laugh at the people that buy equipment, but these golfers spend money on lessons, practicing, practicing and practicing.

The ultra addicted always practice their short game. It might be the best method but it's ultra hard to do because it takes so much time! Practice, hitting ball after ball after ball will become routine if you fall under this category.

There some ways that are more easier.

1. Glove - Please. Change them. Old gloves don't have the gripping power that new ones do. If the club slips, forget trying to hit the ball in the same spot.

2. Spikes - Once you get new spikes, you will see that it is a no-brainer because you no longer slip and lose your balance when you swing. This is especially important during the course where you are on uneven lies!

3. Tees - When I hit my tee shots, I want the ball to hit the sweet spot of the club face every time. Having the same tee height is the only way I can do this (apart from having a repeatable swing).

4. Hydration - In the early days of my golfing career, I would play well and then lose the edge towards the end of the round. After a while of this frustration, I read somewhere that keeping myself hydrated will help me sustain my energy and focus. This means drinking water, Gatorade or some type of liquids throughout the round. Nowadays, it wouldn't be uncommon for me to drink 2-3 bottles of water during an 18-hole round. 4-6 strokes saved

5. Warm up - Try to Warm up if you don't want to spend the first few holes figuring out whether you are slicing or hooking. It is also much healthier for your back.

6. Eat Light - Most people say that eating light helps you stay fit but I noticed that it's harder for me to focus if I eat a heavy meal before or during the round. It's really the same phenomenon when you feel sleepy after a heavy lunch. If I cannot focus, it's very hard for me to shoot a low score! 3-5 strokes saved

Someone entering your average pro shop would feel spoiled for choice with all the different brands on display. Certainly there are a number of excellent values to be found for the journeyman player, a variety of low-cost options from which he may select to begin enjoying his hobby. But, as in all serious sports, there is a significant difference between the equipment of the hobbyist and that of the professional.

Within all the varieties of equipments used by a professional golfer the most ignored tool is the driver club. It is rightly said that "You get what you paid for" and this happens with the driving range also. It is the least used club as it is put in the basket after the first shot and is seldom used again, but a professional golf payer knows the importance of the driving club.

Again, there are dozens of companies that produce good-quality drivers, and the hobbyist is clearly well-advised to purchase a cheaper club, as that best fits his needs. A professional, however, must look all the more closely at his tools. For a person who takes golf seriously, the decision is far more than a cost-benefit analysis.

Some of the manufacturers are quite reputed for good quality of their products. Even the budget-priced tools of Mercedes-Benz are reputed to be of high class with respect to their engineering and reliability. This is true for all the brands which supplies golf accessories. It is well known to a professional player that only the reputed manufactures puts in the efforts to produce high quality equipments for the sake of its status.

Callaway Golf is one of the most reputed brands among all. "Callaway" is always considered the best for manufacturing quality equipments. Tiger Woods and other players of PGA Tours almost always use tools of Callaway, so its reputation of producing durable and quality tools is true.

If maintained properly a high quality driver can be used for decades. Generally it has been seen that only one driver is enough to serve the entire career of a professional golf player. A simple though important aspect of the game, which players of all experience can learn or remember to keep the course and the game enjoyable, is common courtesy. In the four years of playing golf on my high school team, I played many games against other schools. If the courses and the competition weren't difficult enough, things like balling into a divot, taking a shot in sand that wasn't raked, or putting through unfixed greens would certainly add up to work against you.

Weave all been to a course and have had it happen to us, when weave hit a good shot right down the middle of the fairway with our Nike golf club or our Cobra golf driver, and you're thinking that it can't get any better, but as you approach your ball, you see that its landed right in a big divot in the grass. You can't possibly hit a good shot now. Replacing divots is so easy to do, yet I think it is the least done of the many things players can do to keep the golf course in good condition. The last thing you want is for your ball to land in a divot, thereby messing up your next shot.

One thing to remember amongst other golf tips is that there are other players at the course. When I take a divot in the grass after a shot, I often think about if I would enjoy taking a shot from where I just swung. I know I'd be angry if my shot landed in a hole like that, so if the divot, which is probably a couple feet away, if not closer, is still pretty much intact, I just pick it up, and tap it back in with my foot. So easy to do, and yet not enough people do it.

Sand is another important aspect. After taking a shot out of the bunker, I make it a point to rake the sand. It's bad enough to hit a shot into the bunker; to find the sand all messed up just about takes the cake. Sand when not raked can even make the best golfers at sand shots falter. As usual, common courtesy goes a long way here. Though it's a bit of a pain to find the rake the sand again, have some sympathy for your fellow golfer who's had the misfortune of finding his/her ball in the bunker.

Garbage is as much of an irritant. I throw my trash, food wrappers and bottles in dustbins and never think twice about doing the same if I happen to come across trash on the course. This is truly something that can be followed by everyone. You'd agree that it's not the greatest feeling to have to take a shot on top of a plastic bag or with a soda can next to the ball.

Keeping the green in good shape is another one of my commandments. Avoid misshaping the greens by driving the golf cart on the greens and leaving track indentations. Be careful when you putt from the green in checking whether your ball made a dent on the green on landing. I use a putting tool or repair little dents with my putter. For even without dents and messed up tracks, putting can be tough enough.

I like to follow these things when out on the course; for I believe that it's important to be courteous to other players by keeping the course in good shape. Remember the Golden Rule iia treat others the way you want to be treated. Applying this philosophy to the links is a good way in maintaining golf as a gentleman's game.
